2024 Miles for Midwives a success!






On August 31, 2024, the Kentucky Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (A.C.N.M.) hosted the highly anticipated second annual fundraising event at the picturesque Coldstream Park in the heart of Lexington, Kentucky. The event brought together a diverse community of midwives, their cherished friends, dedicated families, and passionate supporters, all united in their commitment to advancing maternal healthcare and promoting the invaluable role of midwifery.


The 5K race, a central highlight of the day's festivities, saw participants of all ages and backgrounds coming together to show their support for this noble cause. The event not only raised crucial funds but also served as a powerful symbol of solidarity and shared purpose within the midwifery community.


In 2024, the event received continued support from Central Kentucky Race Management, showcasing a strong commitment to the field of midwifery within the state of Kentucky.


At the heart of this remarkable gathering was the generous support of the Premier Sponsor, Frontier Nursing University, a leading institution renowned for its commitment to excellence in midwifery education and practice. Their unwavering dedication to the advancement of midwifery was instrumental in the success of the event, underscoring the importance of collaboration and partnership in driving positive change.



The event garnered significant attention and recognition, with local media outlet WKYT featuring the fundraiser and highlighting the inspiring efforts of the Kentucky Affiliate of A.C.N.M. and its supporters. Through this exposure, the event was able to reach a wider audience, raising awareness about the critical work being done to improve maternal health outcomes and promote the vital role of midwives in healthcare.


The 5K brought awareness and advocacy to mobilize our communities to support midwifery in Kentucky. Participants ran, walked, watched and cheered for midwifery.
